Before talking about Beauty, I definitely want you to have and keep in mind something crucial everyone should be aware of and which is a major asset to me :

You are Unique  !

If you can remember that every time you find yourself trying to adjust to a situation or an image that doesn’t fit your personality or your figure, you will spare yourself lots of issues, waste of time and money. In Real Life, Beauty comes in all shapes and types and it is such a great news. We need diversity, not clones !

As I have already said, we live in a society mostly based on appearance, there is no use to deny it : before you get the opportunity to express your wit and charm, your image prevails on other values. Yet, taking care of your appearance should not be considered as superficial because pampering yourself is a good path to self-love and self esteem. The problem begins when you do it to look like Models who are not and will never be You. No matter how hard you try and how much money you spend, you will never be someone else, even if advertising wants you to think it is possible.

When I was working as a Beauty Therapist, I had several fascinating experiences : After having an energetic facial care, my clients were impressed when they looked at the mirror : the result was spectacular. My explanation ? Maybe all they needed was someone looking at them with kindness. Think of how radiant people are when they are in love and loved back…

It is more than time to stand back from pictures in magazines, based on artifice (photoshop, strobing, contouring…). We are made of flesh and blood, emotions and feelings. Make peace with your image, the flaws you see in the mirror are most of the time visible only to yourself. Go outside, meet friends and look at you in their eyes and you will see that you are definitely Unique & Beautiful to them.
